Fake dongles only work on specific versions. Starting with Ez Controller version 7.40 and higher, three levels of protection have been implemented that a fake dongle cannot bypass.

How to verify the authenticity of the key (via Device Manager):
Connect the key to the computer and check its display in Device Manager:

Genuine key: displayed as SafeNet USB SuperPro/UltraPro (Hardware ID: VID_04b9&PID_0300).

Fake key: appears as Hardware Key (Hardware ID: VID_04B9&PID_8000).

In short: If you have a fake key (PID_8000), you will not be able to update to the latest software versions (8.31), as the protection will block the software from running.
